Melanage Peel
Rigor Dermatology & Laser Center offers melanage peels to the residents of Pasadena, CA. We also service Los Angeles, CA. A melanage peel brings excess pigmentation to the surface of your skin, where it is removed by exfoliation. Melanage peels help correct skin discoloration associated with melasma, a hyperpigmentation condition that primarily affects women and those with dark skin.
How can a melanage peel by Dr. Rigor improve my appearance?
If you have dark brown patches on your face, including your cheeks, bridge of your nose, forehead and upper lip, a melanage peel helps reduce the appearance of the hyperpigmentation, giving you a more even skin color.
What happens during the melanage peel at Rigor Dermatology & Laser Center?
Dr. Rigor recommends melanage peels for many of his patients in Pasadena and Los Angeles. The melanage peel requires an in-office and at-home treatment. Dr. Rigor applies a special chemical to your skin. Before you leave the office, Dr. Rigor tells you the amount of time that the masque needs to remain on your skin. You are then sent home to allow the masque to remain on your skin, and your skin may tingle until the masque is removed. When the time has elapsed, you rinse your skin and apply a special prescription cream. You continue to apply the cream for one month after your in-office treatment.
How long is the healing period after the melanage peel by Dr. Rigor?
You may experience mild redness for up to seven days after the in-office procedure, but you may resume your normal activities immediately after your in-home treatment.
